The success of any brand is strongly associated with how well it can understand its customers, and best cater to their needs.

One way to do this is by surveying a specific market. And whilst many online survey tools allow you to create questions and design a survey, reaching a specific market sector can be challenging.

With that in mind we’d like to introduce you to SurveyMonkey Audience, a tool that allows you target an audience within a select population.

The genius bit of SurveyMonkey Audience is that it allows you to specify who you want to get answers from and you’re then charged by the number of responses.

For one of our clients we recently targeted 200 UK-based SME business owners, for which SurveyMonkey charged around £500, plus the monthly usage fee of £24 per month.

SurveyMonkey has a number of different plans, one of which is free, although the free one doesn’t allow you access to the Audience functionality.

SurveyMonkey is the only survey tool we’ve come across that has a database of businesses. Toluna by contrast provides a similar service but is limited to a consumer audience.

Implementation is simple and we’ve just done it for a client – hence this review! Setting up the survey is straightforward, and we were able to apply both the questions and the branding using the user-friendly interface.
